Bruce Schwartz' 1958 Chevrolet Bel Air - The "Blue Car"
The second version of Chuck Burkart's 1958 Chevrolet Impala, featuring a scallop paint job that Joe Crisafulli laid in 1959. Chuck was a member of the San Jose Rod and Wheelers.
Dennis McKee's 1958 Chevrolet Impala of Torrance, California. Dennis' Impala was restyled in 1962, and it received a pearl Tangerine paint job by Joe Andersen of Joe Andersen's Custom Shop in the Summer of 1962.
Doug Osterman's 1958 Chevrolet Corvette of San Jose, California. Doug's mild Corvette was restyled in 1961.
Frank Goehring's 1958 Chevrolet Impala was restyled by Joe Crisafulli at Flyers Body Shop of San Jose, California. The build was completed in 1959.
Gary Ruddell's 1958 Chevrolet Corvette of Norwalk, California. Gary bought the Corvette in 1960. At the time he was the President of the Seagrams of Norwalk car club.
Joe Hurst's 1958 Chevrolet Impala was restyled and fit with lifts in the mid 1960s.
Lasse Mäenpää's 1958 Chevrolet Impala was given a Watson inspired paint job by Pekka Wizzard Mannermaa in 2005.
Rich Wroblewski's 1958 Chevrolet Impala of Neptune City, New Jersey. Rich was a member of the Haulin' Gents car club, and his Impala was restyled by fellow club member Terry Browning in the early 1960s. It was shown and known as the "Jade East."

The slogan for the new Chevrolet in 1958 was: Easier handlin, safer going. Because all 58 Chevrolet had a totally new safety girder chassi. And the body was wider, longer and lower. Impala where introduced for the first time, Impala was the top of the line model. The base series was Del Ray, the mid range was Biscayne. And Bel-Air was now a four door car. Some Chevrolet was powered by a 348 cid 315 hp Super Turbo-thrust V8 engine. Chevy's first big block V8. The new Glide-ride front suspension was installed as well in 1958.

Notable changes in 1958: New front dual headlights, new grille and bumper, new rear bumper, triple rear break and parking lights, air scoops on the sides, new trim and a new roof.

model-year production was 1,283,584 cars.
