Larry Lee's 1952 Chevrolet
1952 Chevrolet Bel Air owned by Larry Lee of Pasadena, California. Several custom body shops in Southern California cooperated on the work of Larry's car. These shops were Barris Kustoms, Valley Custom, Norm's Body Shop, and Cerny's Custom Shop. The modifications included a nosed hood, installation of a 1955 Chevrolet grille, frenched Oldsmobile headlights, new side trim, Oldsmobile Fiesta hubcaps and 1955 Plymouth taillights. An article of how Valley Custom Shop installed the grille was published in Car Craft July 1956. Larry's Chevrolet was featured in a "Side Trim Madness" article published in Custom Cars September 1957. According to this article, a clever balance for two-tone painting was achieved by adapting 1954 Packard Patrician spear at top. Sweeping trim from a 1955 Oldsmobile had been spliced into the Packard spears.[1] The bumpers were simplified by filling the holes. The exhaust outlets were also routed through the rear bumper.
