A photo of Sven Blüme's 1954 Plymouth taken in 1969. "Sven lived in the building next to me in Lidingö. He built the Plymouth in 1965, and if memory serves me right he put a DeSoto Hemi in it and painted in Green Metalflake from the beginning. The pictures are from 1969, when the car was a bit run down." Photo by Mikael de Bourg Wetterlund.
"I remember when I first saw it in 1965," Mikael told Sondre. "He had just installed the engine and was sorting it out. The car was without doors, open lakes pipes and Sven sat on a crate, driving it around the block. You can imagine how impressed I was of the sound from the engine without mufflers!" Mikael de Bourg Wetterlund of Stockholm, Sweden. Born in 1954, Mikael has had an interest in hot rods and customs since the day his father took him to the first Hot Rod Show at Ostermans Marmorhallar in the mid-1960s. "I have built a lot of scale models," Mikael told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2018, "but when the time came for real cars, my interest had turned to Jaguars and race boats." Mikael took some photos back in the 1960s and the 1970s that he has been kind enough to share with Kustomrama.
