Ray upholstered the interior and exterior of Walt Pasternak's 1928 Ford Pickup in genuine rolled and pleated cow-hide.
Lew Wolff's 1932 Ford Roadster was upholstered by Ray in the early 1960s. In 2007, when this photo was taken, Ray's upholstery was still in the car, and it looked brand new. Photo courtesy of Louis Lapham.

Ray upholstered Dave Jenkins' 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air in 1962 while he was working out of the Alexander Brothers shop.

Ray Kulakowsky, also known as The Rag Man, is an upholsterer from the Detroit area. For a while Ray had an area at the Alexander Brothers shop in Detroit where he was doing interiors. He was also working out of Andy DiDia's shop Andy's Auto Trim in Ecorse, Michigan for a while. Ray upholstered cars for such legendary builders as the Alexander Brothers, Bill Hines, Chuck Miller and Dick Dean.
