1951 Mercury owned by Stags of Ogden member and former President Noal Johnston of Ogden, Utah. In 2015 Noal told Kustomrama that he was only 17 years old when he bought the Mercury; "That was in 1957. The customizing and paint work was done by Earl Mitchell. Earl was responsible for customizing many cars at the time." Earl nosed and and decked Noal's Mercury, before he frenched the headlight and installed a 1956 Plymouth grille bar. The car was lowered all around, and fit with dual spotlights, lakes pipes and wire wheels hubcaps. It was powered by a 283 ci Chevrolet engine that George Imazummi installed; "George built and raced a Chrysler powered roadster at the Bonneville Salt Flats for several years in the early 1950s." Noal sold the Mercury to fellow Stags of Ogden member Karl Henderson.[1]
