Mickey Chiachi's 1939 Ford
1939 Ford restyled by Barris Kustoms for Mickey Chiachi. Mickey's Ford was chopped, channeled and fit with a padded top. The running boards were removed and door handles, trim and emblems were shaved off. Ripple bumpers were installed along with a set of bubble skirts. Running a 1941 Mercury engine the car set a Russetta time of 111 mph on the dry lakes of Southern California. The engine was hopped up with Edelbrock heads, Evans manifold and a Winfield cam. When the car was featured in Hot Rod Magazine May 1948 it was listed mistakenly as a 1939 Mercury.
