Louie Erk's 1940 Mercury
1940 Mercury convertible owned by Louie Erk of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Louie's Merc was Continentalized by adding a square lined trunk made from sheet stock. Buick fadeaway fenders, an Oldsmobile grille and Pontiac taillights were used to alter the appearance of the car additionally. Inside, it featured a Leopard skin upholstery. In 1952 two photos of Louie's Mercury appeared in Trend Book 105 Restyle Your Car.[1]
