Ken McGoldrick's 1939 Chevrolet
1939 Chevrolet Coupe owned by Ken McGoldrick. Marshall Tripp worked for Larry Watson at Watson's House of Style between 1966 and 1967, at the time, Ken was the manager in the shop. In 2016 Marshall told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that "Kenny was the "manager," although Larry was always there. He was a good guy and knew his stuff when it came to Larry's work. He taught me how things should be done." Marshall believes that Ken worked for Larry from around 1966 to 1970. "I worked with Kenny all of my time with Watson. The last time I saw his Chevy, it had lifts installed up front only." Painted in a grey primer, other modifications at the time included a custom fabricated front end that incorporated a molded-in grille opening. The grille opening was dressed up with a chrome bar, and the shape it looks very similar to a LaSalle grille. The headlights were sunken down and molded to the fenders. The door handles were shaved, and it ran a later model bumper. Inside, the dashboard was painted in a rainbow color palette.
Where is it now?
Marshall never got to see Ken's car finished. Around 1970 he saw Kenny when he worked at the Watson shop in Downey. Marshall is currently trying to locate Ken and his coupe, so please get in touch with Kustomrama at email@example.com if you know what happened to them. Rumor has it that Kenny moved to the Midwest about 5 years ago.
