Jack Morgan's First 1934 Ford
1934 Ford Roadster built and owned by Clutchers member Jack Morgan. Whenever Jack went racing, he removed the windshield. The roadster was sported by a 1941 Ford mill equipped with Meyer Heads, Navarro manifold, Harman & Collins cam and Arnett ignition. Jack installed a set of 1941 Chevrolet taillights and and antenna on the cowl. The car ran 117 mph in April 1948 at El Mirage.
Jack Morgan's Third 1934 Ford
1934 Ford Roadster built by Jack Morgan. The body was channeled 5 inches over the stock frame. The car featured a custom top that could be folded and stored in a well behind the back seat. The grille came from a 1937 Ford Truck. Morgan made the firewall from .051 hardened aluminum. The car was powered by a 1946 Mercury mill that was bored to 3 3/8 inches and stroked 1/8 inches. The engine was also equipped with Morgan exhaust headers, Smith & Jones heads, Cyclone three-carb manifold, Potvin cam and ignition, Weber flywheel, and Auburn clutch. The engine was hooked to a 1939 Ford transmission with Zephyr gear drives. The rear end was 1942 Ford with 3.78:1 gears. The front axle was dropped and filled, front spring had main-leaf eyes reversed. The front shocks were from a 1941 Ford. The car was modified with hydraulic brakes.
