Bill Schott's 1950 Ford
1950 Ford Coupe owned by Bill Schott of Portland, Oregon. Bill was a charter member of The Kings of Portland, a club founded in 1958, and in 2019 he told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that he traded the car for a 1946 Ford convertible with a full race flathead late in 1958. Bill then had Wilkenson’s Body Shop lower the car by reversing the spindles, cutting the coils and installing new shocks; "A great hot rod shop," Bill remembers, and he also recommended his buddy Chuck Atwood to have his 1959 Ford sectioned by Wilkenson. Except for the radical lowering, the body on Bill's Ford was kept stock. Under the hood, it ran a more powerful 1956 Buick Nailhead engine.[1]
