Bengt Albertsson found this 1937 Ford 'slantback' in 1978. The car was in rather good shape, a renovation had started by previous owner Klas Malmström in Täby, and Bengt could continue with the car, promising this will never be a Hot Rod(!).

The car was sold new in Sweden and its first owner was a pastor somewhere in Uppland.

As Bengt wanted the car legal, the engine was swapped to a slightly newer 1949-1951 flathead that was converted for marine use. This means Scintilla magneto and Bengt also added Offenhauser aluminum heads for better cooling.
Bengt could also add some parts from the 1937 DeLuxe model to this Standard model.

The car is equipped with Chrome Reverse wheels with Moon caps and radial tires. Klasse Eriksson at Bilekiperingen made a fantastic work with the interior and Ingemar Becker painted the car bright yellow with pinstriping.

Bengt Albertsson was involved in SSRA for many years and the car attended several meetings, even in England.

The car was later sold to Kent Larsson in Västerås. Kent prepared at his motor shop Engson Motor a small-block Chevrolet so the flattie got replaced together with a 350 TH transmission.
There is also a Jaguar IFS front end installed, we are unsure if that was done by Kent also.

In 1999, Martin Andersson in Stockholm, also an active SSRA member, purchased the car and has maintained it well since then so the car is still in very good condition. The wheels have rolled several miles to different meeting during all these years.
The left side window is almost opaque due to all decals!
