SSRA
SSRA stands for Swedish Street Rod Association. It is a club for people interested in Hot Rodding or Street Rodding.
SSRA was founded in June 1975 at Tidö slott outside Västerås. First president was Peder Landberg.
The idea of a national club came from Tord Enström and Staffan Runhag. One purpose was to unite people with the same interest but also to act as
"Union" against authorities.
At first SSRA arranged meetings for Hot Rods but the club became an important part in discussions with authorities to make the cars legal to use.
Every year SSRA arranges Street Rod Nationals together with local clubs in Sweden.
The members get a magazine Street Rod Bladet. SSRA can also offer beneficial insurance and discounts in stores.
SSRA is a member of ESRA, the European Street Rod Association.
