1952 Chevrolet Convertible restyled by Andy Rae of Detroit, Michigan. Andy started the build by shaving and leading the hood and deck. Under the hood the car was equipped with a Fenton dual intake manifold. The ignition was reworked, and the car was fit with a dual exhaust system. Also stuffed under the hood was a 6-volt D.C. to 110-volt A.C converter. The system is used to operate a public address system which was concealed behind the grille and under the rear deck. The grille was restyled using a 1951 Ford center bar and torpedo rings. Two small fog lights replaced the torpedoes. Rest of the grille was stock Chevrolet. Instead of going all-out for dechroming, Andy utilized the stock chrome to the best advantage, keeping all of it below a line approximately through the middle of the car. Once the bodywork was completed Andy had the car painted in many coats of a metallic lacquer job called "Saddle Leather Brown". On top of all this was a light tan canvas convertible top. When the top was folded away, Andy snapped a white tonneau cover in place. The build took 2 months to complete, and Andy had $3250 invested in it included the origianl cost of the car.
