Troy Ladd is a talented builder, and the man who started Hollywood Hot Rods. After realising that he wasn't a suit and tie guy, Troy quit his job as a project manager and used his entire life savings top open Hollywood Hot Rods. He slept on the shop floor at night, and lived on one McDonald's mea a day to make the ends meet. Seven years after opening up his shop, Troy was awarded "Builder of the Year" at the 61st annual Grand National Roadster Show in 2010. By then he had managed to build two "America's Most Beautiful Roadster" runner-up cars, was named Goodguys' "Trendsetter of the Year" at the 2007 SEMA Show. Troy is one of the youngest builders to receive the "Builder of the Year" award.[1]
