Tom also restored this 1931 Ford Model A. "I felt sorry for it and brought it back to life. I really like this car – it is a blast to drive." Photo courtesy of Tom Miller.
Tom has owned several cars that he did not build. "I found a 1932 3 window in Detroit that was stored for over 60 years. There is a ’32 roadster still there I am trying to buy." Photo courtesy of Tom Miller.

Tom Miller is a hot rod builder and car enthusiast from Michigan.

Early Years

Tom bought his first car in 1964, at 13 years old. It was a 1931 Ford Model A. A second Model A followed two years later.[1]

Career

Tom worked at the Ford Motor Company. After retiring, he worked for Lew Wolff, maintaining Lew's cars.[1]

Building Hot Rods

Tom did not start building hot rods until he met Teddy Z in Wyandotte, Michigan in the early 1980s. Ted became a close friend and mentor, giving Tom tools and helping him with bodywork on his builds. In 1989, Tom completed a 1930 Ford Model A Coupe powered by a flathead engine. Teddy Z welded the body and laid out the flame paint job.[1]
