The Scar'abs was a car club based in Wilmington, California. In 2016 Bill Farley told Kustomrama that it was probably started by one or more of the sons of the owners of the local Ford dealership "Kott & Smolar; "One of the members was Don Kott who founded a large Ford dealership in Carson. All members of the Scar'abs as best I recall attended Banning High School in Wilmington. Two guys besides Don I remember were Jack Fitzgerald who was a five year varsity letterman, tennis, the season changed and instead of cancelling they ran the seasons concurrently. The other was Joe Darcangelo. Jack was a year ahead of me. My class was the first to go from grammar school to Jr.high to high school. Prior to that, high school was four years instead of three."[1]
