Rob Morton's 1956 Oldsmobile
1956 Oldsmobile owned by Rob Morton of Wichita, Kansas. Rob used to hang around Darry Starbird's Star Kustom Shop on Mt. Vernon in Wichita in the early 1960s. In 2017 Rob told Kustomrama that it was fascinating to watch the master at work; "At some point he modified my Olds. Leading in the chrome parts and lowering the car, which was a problem going to the drive-in movie. The Olds would barely clear the berms," Rob remembered. The Olds also featured a Candy Apple Red paint job, a white rolled and pleated interior, chrome reversed wheels, and baby Moons. "I ran the first chrome reversed wheels with baby moon caps in Wichita. Dave Stuckey ordered the wheels for me. Also, I ran the wheels with black wall tires, which was a new early Southern California trend."[1]
