Richard Peters

Most of the kids in Clean Gene's gang were Armenians, and they all followed a charismatic WWII veteran widely known around town as Blackie. Gene met Richard at Roosevelt High School in 1950. "He was full of energy and worked very hard at his father Ed's packing house." Taken circa 1951, this photo from Richard's Collection shows a group of Blackie Hosses in front of Richard's yellow Mercury Convertible. Richard Peters of Fresno, California. Richard is Chuck Krikorian's brother in law, another well known Fresno hot rodder.

After selling the Ala Kart, Richard gave up cars, devoting himself to full-time farm management, owning his own airlines, and more. "He then started again at Blackie's last few shows," Gene Sadoian told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in December of 2020. "Don Lokey worked for Richard, but retired and then began building cars for Richard." After Gene introduced Richard to Art Goldstrum, Richard started a museum.
