Portland Roadster Show 1957
The second annual Portland Roadster Show was held October 18 thru 20, 1957 by the Multnomah Hot Rod Council]. As the show had grown out of the old Armory building, it had been moved out of town to the Multnomah County Fair Grounds in Gresham, Oregon. At the county fairground, the show committee had a problem dividing the displays among three separate buildings. Joe Bailon had three of his choice "Candy Apple" customs as a special exhibit at the show. These three cars were Jim Augustine's 1955 Ford Thunderbird, Dave Murdock's 1950 Chevrolet. The famous Rod & Custom Dream Truck was the centerpiece of the show. Ron Courtney's 1951 Ford took home the Sweepstakes Award, the People's Choice, First in Class, and Best Custom trophies. [2]
