Norman Wesp's 1955 Oldsmobile
Norman nosed and decked the car. The headlights were frenched and tunneled and the grille molded to the body. Parking lights were installed in the bumper guards. 1955 Chrysler taillights were frenched into the rear fenders. The car was lowered 2 inches in the front and 6 inches in the rear. The rear was lowered by C'ing the frame. Fender skirts that were extended 4 inches at the lower edge were installed on the car to give it a lower appearance. Once the bodywork was done, the car was painted with 12-coats of black lacquer and then pinstriped in lime green by Dick Katayanagi. In the article from Rodding and Re-styling February 1957, Dick's name is misspelled Dick Kataynazi.
The original interior was done in coral and gray, with the rear shelf padded in coral. All interior moldings were chrome plated. The motor was fit with a McCulloch blower, Howard cam and Mallory ignition. All the exterior parts were chromed.
