1959-1960

A group of early Swedish hot rods on their way to Kanonloppet in Karlskoga in 1959. 1932 Ford roadster owned and built by Lennart Djurberg of Sollentuna in Stockholm, Sweden. Lennart is an early Swedish hot rod pioneer.
The car belonged to a man from Uppsala who delivered soda bottles from a brewery to the Djurberg garage. Lennart heard of the car and could buy it in 1955 for 325 SEK. The license plate with a 'C' indicates Uppsala county, meaning lower tax as a benefit.

A lot of modifications were done, of course a 100 hp engine but also upgraded brakes and chassies.
In 1956 a long trip to northern Sweden, Finland and Norway was performed, testing out the car properly! Everything went well.

The car was continously modified in order to give better performance. In 1959 a new engine block was prepared with the best tuning parts you could get at the time. Now the car was repainted white.

Lennart had kept the car over the years. In 1989 he started restoration back to original shape together with his son Johan Djurberg.
Everything is done with original parts from his own stock. The car was painted Washington blue with correct striping.
