Bruce McClellan’s 1956 Chevrolet of Pontiac, Michigan. Bruce bought the Chevy brand new in 1956. George Halpin helped restyle the car, and in 1958 it was ready for a scallop paint job by Paul Hatton. The completed build was shown at the 1959 Detroit Autorama. Bruce sold the car to Ken Johnson of Gingellville in 1959.

In 1960, Ken and a buddy decided to go to California via Route 66," Mark Hitchins told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama. "They stopped at a relative's in Southern Illinois. The relative was a Chevy dealer and offered Ken a new '60 Chevy in trade to the '56. Ken said no." After that, they proceeded on to San Diego. "Once there he was stopped and told to remove the skirts as they couldn't see the tires! Not surprisingly, the car got tons of attention." After two weeks, Ken and his buddy decided to head to St. Petersburg, Florida, to see more relatives. "Once in Florida, Ken was offered a '58 Fuel Injected Corvette in a straight-up trade.
