The Studebaker as it appeared on the cover of Customs Illustrated March 1963.

1953 Studebaker owned and restyled by Jim Lynch. Jim and his friend Gil Murca chopped the top spending three months of their spare time in order to get the roof and body in perfect alignment. All glass was cut down to fit and be functional. The car was nosed, decked and shaved of its handles; the wheel wells were reworked by removing the flare to achieve a cleaner and smoother look. After three years of hard labor and $5,000 later, the car was finished and painted with 18 coats of lacquer.[1] Buick Skylark wire wheels and lakes pipes wrapped up the restyling work.[2] The car is supposedly still around and is, according to rumors, located somewhere in the midwest.[3]
