Jim Davis' 1963 Ford
1963 Ford Thunderbird owned and restyled by Jim Davis of St. Paul, Minnesota. Jim was a body guy, he worked on cars his whole life, and the car was all metal, no fiberglass. Jim was the uncle of Bud Zubert's wife, and in 2020 Bud was the caretaker of the old custom. Jim's Thunderbird was built as a copy of Dick Axcell's 1962 Ford Thunderbird. An old Barris Kustom restyled in 1962. Jim did his in 1970, and Bud believes he saw one of the articles on Axcell's car and decided to copy it.[1]
