01.07.2023 - Walt Kaplan's 1940 Mercury Coupe. Built in the late 1980s. Not a trailer queen, but still a stunner. Sold by Barret Jackson in 2008. Been in storage, covered for 14 years. 01.07.2023 - 1940 Mercury Convertible. Mildly customized with performance upgrades. Solid original car that was fully restored years ago. The Merc flathead V8 has been upgraded with fully polished Offenhauser heads and dual Stromberg intake, MSD electronic ignition, and Reds Headers with full dual exhaust. The 3 speed transmission shifts great and the Hydraulic brakes stop the car well. Rolls on Radial wide whitewall tires. car has a slightly lowered stance for the 50's traditional custom look. The complete wiring harness was replaced with a new factory correct cloth bound harness. All of the gauges work well. 08.08.2022 - 1940 Mercury Convertible Sedan. Historic build. Offered for sale for the first time in 61 years. Runs (sweet) and "yard drives." The seller has no history prior to it being put in storage in San Jose, California in 1961. Rumored to have some connection to the actor Errol Flynn, but nothing to confirm this. These are very rare cars, to begin with (less than 1000 produced), but what makes this car somewhat special is the HALL (Oakland, California) padded lift off top. Easy project to make a kool driver as is, or use your imagination. The seller has the title in hand, and he is happy to help with transport and shipping if required. 05.22.2020 - 1940 Mercury Custom by Rick Dore. Originally owned by Johnny Loper. 327 cubic inch Chevrolet V8. Fresh 700R4 transmission. Posi traction rear end. Air bags in the rear. Chopped 4 inches up front and 6 inches in the rear. Custom interior by Bob Divine of Divine Custom Interiors. Metallic green paint job by Brad Quinn. 04.09.2020 - Tom Renzulli's 1940 Mercury Convertible. Tom's Mercury was supposedly built from the remains of Johnny Zaro's 1940 Mercury Coupe, an early Barris Kustom originally completed in 1948. In April of 2020, the Renzulli Mercury was advertised for sale at EstateSales.org. Located in Escondido, California it was listed as an online auction with a US $1,000 starting bid. 04.09.2020 - 1940 Mercury Eight Convertible. 239 cubic inch 8. 3-speed manual transmission. Columbia 2 speed rear end with overdrive. Properly maintained and stores.
