The first Hayward Custom Auto Revue was held at the Perry and Key Body Shop in Hayward, California in 1960. The second show, held in May 1961 was moved to Hayward Skate Arena.

The second annual Hayward Custom Auto Review was held May 25 thru 28, 1961 at Hayward Skate Arena. Joe Ortiz was the show promoter.

Hayward Custom Auto Review 1960
The first Hayward Custom Auto Review was held May 6 thru 8, 1960 at the Perry and Key Body Shop in Hayward, California. 50 custom made cars, worth more than $250,000 were displayed at the show. Amongst the most notable builders that entered cars were Joe Bailon, Joe Wilhelm, George Barris and Bob McNulty. The attendees competed for $1,000 worth of trophies and sweepstakes awards. The show did also include a display of Go-Karts and Micro-Midgets. Part of proceeds from the show went to the auditorium building fund of All Saints Parochial School. Hayward Motors and Bill Keith co-operated in sponsoring the show. Joe Ortiz and his wife Verda Ortiz were co-chairmen of the event, while Jerry Sahagon was the director.[1]
