Gerry Moree's 1955 Ford
1955 Ford Fairlane restyled by Robbie Martinez, owner of Broadway Auto Body Shop in Chula Vista, California for Gerry Moree of South Carolina. While Gary's ship, the U.S.S. Lexington docked in San Diego for a few months, his chance to build a custom car came true! He drove the car to Robbie, which shaved the hood, doors and deck lid to give the car a cleaner look. A 1954 Chevrolet grille bar and parking light assembly was installed, along with a set of 1956 Oldsmobile headlight rings. The stock side trim was removed and replaced with 1955 DeSoto trim, which separated the Sierra Gold and white. Martinez also constructed a seat of neat airscoops on the bottom of the rear fenders, with small chrome teeth in the openings. The taillights featured shades built right onto the stock housings with 1956 Oldsmobile lenses butted to the bulkheads. The car was lowered 4 inches both front and rear. The car was also fit with a tuck & roll interior.[1]
