Gene Winfield bought his white 1956 Mercury brand new. He drove the car for six months before he started to kustomize the car. Gene started by lowering the car. After that he then nosed and decked it. He drove the car in this condition for a while, before he decided to paint it in a candy burgundy.

Gene did also modify the car with 1959 Pontiac sidetrim, an upper front bumper from a 1957 DeSoto, and skirts from a 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. Further he added side pipes with heat shields to the car. He also shaved the rear quarters and smoothed out the bump. Inside, the car featured a black vinyl Rolls and Pleats interior.

After driving the car for some years, Gene sold it to one of his employees; Bill Pringle.
