1949 Ford owned by Tacoma Drag-Ons member Gary Overby of Tacoma, Washington. Gary's shoebox was sectioned 5 inches in 1961. The cuts were made where the side trim used to be. During the sectioning, Gary radiuses the wheel wells as well. Gary's shoebox was powered by a 300 inch flathead. Dick Page recalls that Gary once got a parking ticket for a Studebaker as the cops didn't understand what car it was. Later on Darrel Ross, Dick Page and some friends helped Gary chop and hardtop the roof on the Ford as well. The job was done inside Gary's fathers old barn.[1]
