Floyd Cowan's 1951 Chevrolet

1951 Chevrolet owned by Floyd Cowan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Floyd's Chevrolet was a special order vinyl top car acc code 2. The front was restyled by removing the bumper and grafting on a 1953 Studebaker lower front pan. A tube grille was installed inside the reworked grille opening. Canted 1959 Chevrolet headlights were frenched in and the hood was shaved for ornamentation. The lip on the front wheel well was extended along the body sides and on to the doors. The rear wheel wells were radiused, and the door handles were shaved. The deck was shaved as well, and rear end carried a bumper less design. The car was powered by a 348 engine that Floyd had pulled out of a rolled over police car. Floyd was an upholsterer by trade, and the interior sported a full wrap around lounge for rear passenger comfort. Swivel bucket seats were installed up front. The interior was done in blue frieze square buttons accentuated with blue peal naugahyde. The side windows were tinted blue as well. Once completed, Floyd named his custom the "Blue Goose". When the Blue Goose was featured in Rod & Custom February 1968 it rolled on Keystone rims.

In 2012 Jason Dolman of Sparks, Nevada bought the remains of Floyd's old custom. Jason picked the car up from out back of a body shop.
