An ad for D & B Auto Sales printed in Hot Rod Magazine November 1948. Tom Medley drew the cartoon illustrations for the ad. Don Britton is listed as contact person in the ad, so he was probably the owner of the lot as well.

Johnny Zaro's 1941 Ford Convertible was advertised for sale at the D & B Auto Sales lot around 1952. The car was stolen off the lot before 24 hours had passed.

D & B Auto Sales was a used car lot in Hollywood, California specialized in custom built cars and hot rods. In 1948 the shop was located at 8221 Santa Monica Blvd. In an ad printed in Hot Rod Magazine November 1948, D & B Auto sales are looking for roadsters to buy. Don Britton is used as contact person in the ad, so chances are big that it was his lot, and that "D & B" stood for Don Britton.[3]

By 1954, the lot had changed name to "Custom City". According to a story in Hot Rod Magazine July 1954, Marv Gelberg was the current owner of the lot.[4]
