Clyde's Body Shop

Clyde's Body Shop of Richmond, California. Circa 1957, while he was in high school, Norman J. Green worked at Clyde's Body Shop after school. "It was there I learned to appreciate the skill these body men had,"" Green told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2019. Being the "kid," Green's job was sanding and masking off of the cars for paint. "I watched Clyde “lead in” the hood and “shave” the door handles of a 49 Old’s Fastback… and of course, there were always guys coming around in their cars to “hang out” and talk. I can still see that Old’s, painted a deep red with white “tuck and roll” upholstery and of course a “three duce carburetor” set up … and twin “Appleton” spotlights!"
