The Cal-Loui special Bonneville land-speed roadster was owned and raced by the team of Jim Lindsley and A. J. Michele. It was named for the two home states of the partners. Lindsley was going to run a Chrysler engine in it until a guy he ran into at Bonneville showed up from Lousiana with his own Chrysler, and so Jim put both engines in the car.Dave Sorenson At different times, it carried single and twin engines and broke records at the Flats with a modified roadster record of 154.82 mph in 1952. In it's twin form, it reached 202.07 mph in 1954. This record put Lindsley into the books as the driver of the first 200 mph roadster. Barris Kustoms was responsible for hammering out the nose which was formed to match the cowl shape. They also painted it blue and white. The Cal-Loui team also took the Best Appearing Car and Crew Awards.
