Bob Holley's 1947 Chevrolet

1947 Chevrolet Coupe owned by Road Lords of So. Cal. member Bob Holley. He had the coupe when he first started with the club. It had sweet sounding dual exhausts, and 800x16 tires in the rear. The front wheels had the smaller stock size tires. All the inside window frames were chromed. Bob used rubbing compound to smooth out the factory enamel dash. He was very careful not to rub to hard, and the dash came out like fine laquer furniture. He always used Harley's wax on it, and the rest of the car as well. The hub caps were full Moons, and at one time he painted a one inch stripe in the curve near the edge of the hubcap, the he put blue glitter onto the wet enamel and let it dry. Bob remembers that the color came out of the glitter when it rained, so he took some thinner and cleaned up all of the hubcaps. The body of the car was dark blue, done at Earl Schieb's for $29.95, and they had to redo it three times to get it right, at no extra charge.
