Bill Daniels of La Habra, California. Bill was a member of the Agitators of Fullerton car club, and his first car was a 1942 Ford sedan that his uncle gave him in 1954. "It was ugly," he told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama in 2020. "Ugly as it had silver-painted trim instead of chrome because of the War." Before Bill was even able to drive it, someone offered an unfinished 1932 Ford cabriolet to trade. "I did the trade but didn't like it as it wasn't a true roadster." Daniels was able to trade the cabriolet for an unfinished and chopped 1932 Ford coupe. "I had it painted by Bill's Body Shop in Fullerton, California and added some Moon speed equipment. I drove it to High School the sophomore year." Constantly challenged by a group of Mopar fans as how slow it was, Bill decided to build something to keep up with them. "That is when my 50 Olds project started. It was built, painted yellow, and driven my High School senior year. No longer harassed by the Mopar group. I could now outrun them." Bill sold the 32 to fund the Olds project.[1]
