January 12, 2021, after monitoring the current coronavirus outbreak and the government regulations, Rod Shows announced that the 2021 Grand National Roadster Show has been canceled and moved to 2022. "Rest assured, we will return again in 2022 for a bigger, more exciting celebration with the cars and friends we all love," they announced on their Facebook Page the same day. After 7 years of owning the historic hot rod, Bob Owens completed the restoration of Ian Cusey's 1932 Ford Roadster late in 2021. In January of 2022, he debuted the restoration of the car at the 2022 Grand National Roadster Show, displaying it as it was on the cover of Speed Tuning & Trouble Shooting in 1963. Mark Stewart of Dallas, Texas had Ron Sweeney's 1957 Ford custom on display at the show. Known as Seaburst, Stewart bought the old Oregon custom early in 2020. In 2022, Stewart told Sondre Kvipt of Kustomrama that his plans were to get the car out on the national show circuit again. "Seaburst was in the Grand National Roadster Show this last January 2022 and was awarded the Early Custom Radical 1955-1964 best of class award," Stewart told Kustomrama. At the GNRS show Stewart got to meet people that remembered Seaburst from its early days in the Portland area. He also had the pleasure of meeting one of the previous owners. "During the discussion, one interesting question was if I knew why Seaburst was wearing scallops at one of the Portland Roadster Shows. You have pictures from the show on your page and those pictures were taken by George Barris. I was told that John Rudisill was driving Seaburst up on a trailer that turned out to be too narrow and both sides were scrapped. In order to still be able to show the car a quick Scallop job was done to hide the scrapes. It sounds like a plausible story but as in all history stories, we may never know the full truth." Before the show, Stewart replaced the acrylic rear window with a 1957 Ford laminate rear window. "Only took 26 hours and 22 cuts to make it work," Stewart informed. Photo courtesy of Mark Stewart.

The 72nd annual Grand National Roadster Show was held January 28 - 30, 2022 at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Due to the coronavirus outbreak and the government regulations, Rod Shows announced on January 12, 2021 that they had made the tough decision to cancel the 2021 Grand National Roadster Show. "Rest assured, we will return again in 2022 for a bigger, more exciting celebration with the cars and friends we all love," they announced on their Facebook Page the same date.
