1962 Excalibur RS Roadster

From Kustomrama
Jump to: navigation, search
Designed by Brooks Stevens and built decades later by his close friend Robert Shaw, the 1962 Excalibur RS Roadster is a one-off masterpiece blending 1950s dream car aesthetics with modern performance. Originally penned in 1959, the design was finally realized in 2006 with input from designer Herb Grasse and fabricators Chuck Rahn and Dave Draper. The car, shown here at a listing from the 2025 Mecum Indy auction, features Lamborghini scissor doors, a GM V8 with throttle-body injection, and a body finished in red, white, and blue—paying tribute to Stevens’ original Excalibur racers.
