Joe Sulpy's Parisienne Clone
1957 Chrysler Saratoga restyled by Joe Sulpy III and his son Joe Sulpy IV of Whippany, New Jersey. Joe's Saratoga is built as a clone of Richard Korkes' 1954 Ford convertible, named The Parisienne. Joe Sulpy III started the build, but when he became seriously ill, Joe IV finished it. Joe III was a high school kid when Korky built the original Parisienne back in the late 1950s and 1960s. He would often stop by the shop, trying to get a sneak peek of the car, only to be chased away by Korky and his crew.[1]
While Korky based his build on a 1954 Ford, Sulpy decided to start with a 1957 Chrysler. All that remains from the Saratoga is basically the frame, windshield and tail lamps.[1]
In 2008 Joe Sulpy IV moved his business from New Jersey to Buckeye, Arizona. He brought the Parisienne clone with him.[1]
