1950 Chevrolet Convertible restyled by Ed Schelhaas of Schelhaas Custom Shop for Lakewood Creators member Howard Buysman of Bellflower, California. Howard, also called "Butch", was a high-school classmate of Larry Watson.[1] The body seams on the car was molded in. Special taillights were frenched into the rear fenders. The bumpers were simplified by removing the guards. Up front the car was modified with a mesh type grille made out of two 1955 Chevrolet grilles, the headlights were also frenched. The car was lowered by blocks, dual exhaust, special hubcaps and a unique short chrome side trim was added to the clean Chevy.[2] George Newton, who worked for Schelhaas, painted the car.[1]
