Hayward Mendenhall's 1956 Ford
1956 Ford F-100 truck owned by Hayward Mendenhall of Norwalk, California. While attending high school, Hayward worked at a Texaco gas station. He bought the truck brand new, and had Larry Watson paint it in his parents driveway.[1] Watson scalloped the truck gold metallic with candy root-beer tips and white pinstriping.[2] Hayward went to Excelsior High, while Watson attended Bellflower High.[1] In 1958 Hayward's pickup was shown at the Renegades Rod & Custom Motorama in Long Beach, California.
