Ventura Nationals 2017
By Matt Rico.
This 2017 Labor Day weekend the Ventura Nationals celebrated its 16th annual show in Ventura, California at the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The show kicked off on September 1, 2017 with a preparty in downtown Ventura at the Majestic Theatre. Inside the theatre, Ventura Nationals organized an art show that included art work with different mediums along with photography and a few vendors. The street was blocked off for some of the cars that were going to participate in the show. Throughout the night cars cruised up and down Main Street where the theatre was located.
Saturday, bright and early under the California sun among the ocean breeze, cars entered the Ventura County Fairgrounds to kick off the real party, the 16th Ventura Nationals. Walking through the gates the first initial thought after seeing the first group of cars, you knew it was going be a great day. Hop Up Magazine organized a featured indoor display of selected cars which was worth visiting two or three times to admire the collection. A large number of cars parked around the fairgrounds, and pedal cars competing for the “best pedal car” award and the awesome display of vintage style motorcycles. The show is truly set up for good times. Not to mention great live music playing throughout the day set the tone of the day.
On Sunday, just before the closing to the awesome weekend of Ventura Nationals they host a reliability drive through the scenic backroads of Ventura ending at the Noble Endless Summer Gathering at the Venture Beach Pier.
It’s really a neat experience to travel to a show that attracts people from all over who share the same love and interest. Best way to describe the show is a great time surrounded by the best looking Kustoms, Hot Rods, Lowriders, bikes and yes even Pedal cars, all gathered by the great people of the Ventura Nationals. Thank you Ventura Nationals for hosting such a great show. A highly recommended car show to put on your bucket list. Enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.
